Thanksgiving Break!

We had a wonderful and busy Thanksgiving break!  We spent Thanksgiving with my family at my parents house.  The kids had fun playing with their cousins. Hunter was so proud as he helped my mom cook all day preparing the big feast.  It was dee-lish!

What would Thanksgiving be without a little Football!  Thanks Tom Brady for playing a super game.  Go Patriots!
Friday I did a little black Friday Shopping and got some good deals.  The kids helped Daddy clean the yard and we had a great big bonfire.  Later Hannah and Finley want to watch the Monarchs hockey team play with Daddy.  They had a great time and managed to get two official pucks.  They were mostly excited about the free french fries they got for the monarchs scoring four goals!
Hunter was not feeling too well so he stayed home with me and Ryland.  We decided to decorate the house for Christmas!  It took some time, but we managed to finish and I am so happy it's done.  We still have to get our tree, but I just love the house with all the decorations and lights.  It is so warm and cozy.
Sunday we went to a holiday parade.  Hannah's good friend Emily was dancing in it.  The kids had a great time.  The weather was brisk but at least the sun was out.  Ryland was enthralled with the whole thing.  He did not take his eyes off the parade the entire time.  Too cute!

Back to reality this week.  No more sleeping in!  I just can't believe December is upon us.  I just want to enjoy this special time with my kids and enjoy every moment and try not too stress too much about getting everything done.  They are only little once!

Go Patriots!

So Football season has come to an official end.  What a season for my little Finn.  He has come so far.  He was excited to sign up and play football as some of his friends would be playing as well.  We were hesitant as he was just turning five when the season began.  He would definitely be on of the youngest players.  Let me tell you, I did not realize the amount of time and dedication these players and coaches put into the game.  They take their football real serious.
In the beginning Finley did well at practice even though they were long (2 hours)!  When the first practice game came Finley was very nervous.  So nervous that he would not even go out.  The poor thing did not even know what to expect or do for that matter.  The coaches and I joke about it now, but we did not think he would last that second week.  Fast forward to now and he is such a different player.  Full of confidence and willing to run the ball any chance he can get.  I cannot thank these coaches enough for all of their encouragement and dedication to these little players.  They are the reason Finn flourished.
We had our end of the year party where we watched videos of the kids throughout the year and they got presented with their trophies.  Finn was so excited to get a trophy as his older siblings had some and he was yet to get one.

At the end of the awards they had one more special award for the most improved player.  This person would get to take home and keep the teams superbowl trophy, which is quit large.  My little Finn won!  The look on his face when they called his name was priceless.  It was certainly a moment he will never forget.  I am so proud of him.

The Holidays are Coming!

I must admit I am one of those annoying people who start to plan their Christmas cards back in the summer. You can't really blame me.  With four children it's not always easy to get that "perfect" shot.  I like to think about where I would like to take the pictures  and what the kids should where.  I love to try and get them on our family vacations to the beach, but that does not always go as planned if you know what I mean.
For the past three years at least, I have used Shutterfly.  The thing I love about shutterfly is the versatility.  There is literally something for everyone.  The choices are simply wonderful.  I always have a hard time picking just one picture so I love the fact you can choose from different templtaes depending on your needs.
This is the card I choose last year.  I recieved so many compliments and the quality was impressive.

This year I have my eye set on the Scarlet Script Frame 5x7 folded card.  I also like the Many Memories Tree 5x7 folded card.  Both of these allow me to customize my card to my needs.   These, along with many many more can be found here..  This year I would like to do a card with a group shot and some individual pictures.  Something like this:

I also love the look of these pretties:

Another great idea that I have done in the past is to make photo books for the grandparents as holiday gifts.  It was so easy to do and just a treasured keepsake to have.  I know my mom and mother-in-law just loved them.  They are quick and simple to do and again lots of options to choose from.  Go to http://www.shutterfly.com/books.  For this busy mom of four I could not ask for a better way to share and preserve my special memories.  For all you other bloggers out there you can earn 50 free holiday cards from Shutterfly.  How great is that!  Simply apply here:  http://bit.ly/sfly2010.

Eight is Great!

I can't believe my baby girl is eight.  We have been celebrating her birthday for two weeks now between friends and family parties.  Her actual birthday was November 4th.  I remember like it was yesterday.  This time around I was determined to get an epidural for the pain.  Best decision ever.  I was actually laughing and smiling while in labor.  The nurses were the best.  We were joking and telling stories.
Hannah you came into this world quickly.  I cried when I found out you were a girl. The whole time I was thinking boy and already having Hunter, it was so sweet to now have a daughter.   We all cried tears of joy.  You were just beautiful.  Even eight years later I will never forget that moment.  I love you baby girl!

The final celebration was to The American Girl store in Natick.  We went with my sister, niece, the two Nana's and Hannah's good friend Emily.  Hannah was so looking forward to going.  She used her own birthday money to buy a new doll.  The girls had the best time shopping and having lunch with their dolls.  Everything there is so cute and a girls dream come true.  Honestly I was getting excited myself over the outfits.  To be a kid again.

SPOOKE-TACULAR WEEKEND

We had a great weekend despite our teams loss at the superbowl ;(a.k.a spooky bowl).  There may have been some Boo Hoos going on.  Seriously though, Finley's tiny mite team should be so proud of themselves. They were 7 and 1 coming into the finals.  The other team was so good and big.  They even had two girls on their team.  We put up a good fight though.  I am so proud of my little Finn for making it through the year, giving it his all and learning about great sportsmanship.  I am no going to lie though, I am so happy football is done for the season.  It's a lot of work for the parents.  Two hours practices three times a week.  8:00 games on Sundays (includes away games too when you have to get up at 5:00).  I will not miss you Sunday games!
Halloween was a super fun day.  I gave the kids little treats in the morning.  It was nice to have the day off and just relax in the morning.  It was very cold this year for Halloween.  We have been very spoiled in the past with warm weather to trick-or-treat in.  Not this year.  My kids looked double their size by the time I stuffed jackets into their costumes.  We went around our neighborhood with the Zaccaria's and the Tabor's.  The kids had a blast and even Ryland kept up this year.  The only time he was really frightened was at my neighbors haunted house.  Who wouldn't be this thing is super scary. He does it every year and each year it gets scarier and scarier.  He even had showings on certain nights so people can come over and view it.

My kids are in candy heaven.  I will let them enjoy a few more days before it mysteriously disappears.  I guess Christmas is in full force now because every store I went into yesterday is packed with Christmas stuff.  I have to say I don't mind because I just adore the Christmas season!
