November to Remember

Here I find myself once again.  The end of another month, baffled as to how we got here and wondering when time is going to slow down.  Probably January and February no doubt when I will be longing for all things warm and sunny!
I just love this time of year, but wish it wouldn't have me going in circles and whipping my butt in all the things that must be done.  Every year I vow to slow down, enjoy more, stress less, craft, bake and enjoy all things gingerbread.  While some of these things I will do with ease, others I will not. You get the picture!  Before I dive into all the holiday bliss, I need to play catch up in November.

Although our Halloween and trick-or-treating was postponed this year due to Hurricane Sandy, it did not stop us from celebrating at home.  We had mummy treats and mashed potato ghosts for dinner followed by some serious pumpkin carving. Ha!  I just loooove roasting the seeds.  My favorite!

We finally had our Halloween five days later.  The night was actually mild and the kids had lots of fun going around the neighborhoods.

Next up, we had a special birthday in the house.  My baby girl Turned TEN. .. NO WAY!
I don't know how this happened.  She is now double digits.  That's  a big deal to kids.
We had a spa themed birthday party.  It was so fun.  We had manicures, pedicures and facials.  Honestly, ten year old girls are funny when they get together.  I had put lots of time and effort in making this day so special for Hannah and wouldn't you know the things they thought were the bomb about the party;  The Pizza Delivery Man and the teen Boys playing Hockey outside.  That's right, apparently, it's cool to ask the pizza man for his autograph and make signs for the older boys outside.  Jeeez . .  note to self, next time just hire those boys to play hockey on said birthday.  Too Funny!

We had our first snowfall in November and to my delight, it was short loved.  The kids played in it as much as they could until it quickly melted away.  Dear snow,  please don't come again until Christmas time.  Thanks!  A grateful Mom!

Happy Thanksgiving

So BLESSED for my little "Turkeys" and I mean this as a term of endearment.  Can't imagine my life without my little guys and my big guy too!  They are the lights of my life and bring such joy and happiness to my life each and every day.  Love my little family!

Five!

My baby turned five in the blink of an eye.  How did that happen.  His birthday was actually October 14th.  I'm just a wee bit behind.  At least I'm almost in the same month.  Ha!
I remember my other three children turning five and thinking it's such a magical age.  Not quit a little kid any more, yet still so fragile and innocent.  It was hard then to imagine that my last little baby would turn this magical age someday.  I don't know how it happened, but it did.
I always joke with Ryland and tell him to not grow so big so I can still pick him up.  On the morning of turning five he said mom, don't worry now that I'm five.  I haven't grown.  Try and pick me up!  And I did!  Love that boy!
Five things that I adore about you Ryland.

      1.  Your laughter.  You have the best laugh and still have that little baby voice.
      2.  Your sweet nature and kind heart.
      3.  Your eagerness to learn.
      4.  That you are a mommy's boy!
      5.  Your love of all things football, especially the Patriots.

In honor of your big day we had, what else, A Football themed party!
Happy birthday baby and yes you will always be my baby.  We Love You!

Your favorite gift.  An ipod touch.  Thanks Nana Sharon and Papa Fred! Now mommy can have her phone back.  Having three older siblings, this boy can work the ipod like nobody's business!
