T-BALL

A boy in his glory. . . . .

Race Updates!

I have been continuing on my running path to that Half Marathon which will happen in September.  My friend Lisa and I have been running different races to prepare.
We did a 5K on Cinco de Mayo!  It was so fun and of course included some Margaritas afterwards.  We were concerned of the "Hills" the race kept emphasizing.  Implying we would have to work for those drinks. Ha!  However, we had our bet time yet!  24:07

Last Saturday we did our first 12k.  This race was unlike other races we have done, as in these people mean serious business.  We are used to fun, crazy dressed, loud music races.  Not happening here! To say we felt a little intimidated is an understatement.  Everyone, I mean everyone was in tip top shape.  In addition, the race was the hilliest we have ever seen.  Perhaps we need to prepare a bit more for these kind of races.  All and all we did not do too bad and finished with a time of 1:03.
(No idea why this picture looks like a fun house mirror image. . . oh well it's the only one I have!)

Spring Break

The kids had spring break over a month ago so I thought now was as good as time as ever to catch up.  As most spring breaks around New England go, we want the weather to actually feel like spring, but more often than not, it's just not the case.
We did attempt a beach day at Plumb Island.  Even though the wind kept the temps down it did not keep the kids away from the water.  Honestly, the kids are like fish.  It was amazing to see the transformation of Plumb Island since last summer.  Winter storms eroded the shoreline and even destroyed a few homes.  A new stone wall is also becoming a new part of the landscape.

Later in the week we headed to Coco Keys indoor water park.  This is the second time we have gone there and the kids had a blast.  I enjoyed the sauna like feel in there.  If you close you eyes it almost feels like your are on an island somewhere warm. . . ALMOST!

Speaking of warm, we also had our first Bonfire Of the season.  Finally burned our Christmas tree that was sitting in the fire pit all winter.  Of course we roasted marshmallows.  Yum!

Celebrating Finley

May 11, 2013 we celebrated Finley's special day.  His First Holy Communion.

He was looking forward to this day for some time.  It seems just like yesterday when Hunter made his first communion and Finn was just a little guy.  Time just slips through my fingers lately.
The mass was filled with 26 children eagerly anticipating the body and blood of Christ!
Father Chris gave a wonderful Homily!

Finley looked so handsome in his suit.  After, we celebrated with friends and family at Vesper Country Club.  Finley was excited to use some of the money he got to buy his own ipod mini!  My favorite things were the cookies I had made for the favors.  They were too cute and looked just like Finley!

It was such a great and special day.  We love you Finley and are so proud of you!
We missed Nana rose and Papa Joe and can't wait until nana gets better! Xo
