FALL

Fall is by far one of my favorite times of the year.  I have had my house decorated since the kids left for school in early September.  Sadly, that's the last time I blogged as I feel like I have not had a second since the kids went back to school!  Guess I'm really "Falling" behind.  I could not let October go without catching up!
This time of year I cannot get enough Pumpkin or candy corn.  Who knew they had chocolate covered candy corn. Yum!!  My new fall treat.  It's worth the extra time at the gym. Ha!
The days are getting shorter and mornings are chilly!  Last night it was dark by 6:00.  I don't mind though.  I love the coziness and warmth feel in the house. ( Ask me in March and I'll be dying for more sunlight!)
I love my house decorated for the season and the smell of apple crisp and pumpkin pie!  The kids are so looking forward to Halloween next week.  Where did the month go?!!

We made our annual trip to Parlee farm in Tyngsboro to do some apple and pumpkin picking.  The weather was so nice!

Nana and Papa with the kids on the hay ride.

Hannah just adores her Papa Fred!

Out good friend Emily came along with us for the day.  My kids LOVE spending time with Emily!
They had the cutest bunnies at the apple farm.  My kids begged to take one home.  I almost gave in but I'm the one who does all the work with the bunny we have.  Those baby ones were hard to resist though!  Off to get a Pumpkin Latte before I get Rye from Preschool!  I'll miss all the pumpkin but luckily for me I like gingerbread just as much and Dunkins and Starbucks will be hopping right on that wagon!

Bittersweet!

This time of year is always filled with mixed emotions for me.  While I love the fall and all the things it entails, I can't help but think of the wonderful summer and the warmth we will soon leave behind.  And while I love the start of a new school year and all of things that entails, I will miss our carefree summer of sleeping in and all of the fun things we all did. Bittersweet for sure!
Surprisingly, the kids were off to a great start this morning.  Dare I say they were actually looking forward to getting back to school and seeing all their friends.  Not sure if I will go that far, but this is actually the first year Hannah did not cry.  By cry, I mean award winning dramatics!  I often felt like a bad mom pushing her on that bus.  Not this year.  Alas, my little girl is growing up.  Hunter and Finley seemed in great spirits as well.  All is right in the my little world and I know what that means, something is bound to go wrong tomorrow.  But, I will hold on strong to this day when this thing called motherhood seemed easy for once!

Hunter leaves almost an hour before the other kids.  Luckily he is an early riser!

Showing off their new backpacks!

Hannah just adores Finley and He adores her as well.  They are so excited to be at the same school this year!

I look so tired in this picture.  Honestly I was up all night.  I get more nervous than the kids.  You would think I was the one going to school. Ha!

Cooper, Marissa, Sydney, Hannah and Finley.  Neighbors all at Wilkins school together this year!
