Spring Break

The kids had spring break over a month ago so I thought now was as good as time as ever to catch up.  As most spring breaks around New England go, we want the weather to actually feel like spring, but more often than not, it's just not the case.
We did attempt a beach day at Plumb Island.  Even though the wind kept the temps down it did not keep the kids away from the water.  Honestly, the kids are like fish.  It was amazing to see the transformation of Plumb Island since last summer.  Winter storms eroded the shoreline and even destroyed a few homes.  A new stone wall is also becoming a new part of the landscape.

Later in the week we headed to Coco Keys indoor water park.  This is the second time we have gone there and the kids had a blast.  I enjoyed the sauna like feel in there.  If you close you eyes it almost feels like your are on an island somewhere warm. . . ALMOST!

Speaking of warm, we also had our first Bonfire Of the season.  Finally burned our Christmas tree that was sitting in the fire pit all winter.  Of course we roasted marshmallows.  Yum!

Celebrating Finley

May 11, 2013 we celebrated Finley's special day.  His First Holy Communion.

He was looking forward to this day for some time.  It seems just like yesterday when Hunter made his first communion and Finn was just a little guy.  Time just slips through my fingers lately.
The mass was filled with 26 children eagerly anticipating the body and blood of Christ!
Father Chris gave a wonderful Homily!

Finley looked so handsome in his suit.  After, we celebrated with friends and family at Vesper Country Club.  Finley was excited to use some of the money he got to buy his own ipod mini!  My favorite things were the cookies I had made for the favors.  They were too cute and looked just like Finley!

It was such a great and special day.  We love you Finley and are so proud of you!
We missed Nana rose and Papa Joe and can't wait until nana gets better! Xo

Mother's Day 2013

Mothers day this year was certainly bittersweet. . . .
My mother in law,  Nana Rose, was not able to be with us.  Last week she had a bad fall at our house.  Sadly, she cracked her skull and broke seven ribs.  Fortunately she is on the mend but it is going to take some time.  The kids miss their Nana so much and can't wait for her to come home!

Ryland's preschool class had the cutest Mother's day tea.  My last one for preschool ever!  Sniff! Sniff!
He was so excited for this special day.  They had to vote on what dessert to make and fill out a sheet all about their moms.  I love that he got my age right on. Not!  The self portrait of me had me smiling all day.  It was basically a head with a little mohawk.  The girls pictures had all kinds of detail.  I remember this from Hannah's class as well.  The girls seem to always pay so much more attention to detail in their pictures. Ha!  He made me the cutest necklace and painted rock.

Mother's day I was treated to breakfast in bed by the kiddos.  Hunter is getting to be quit the cook and made me the best cheese omelet.  Then they gave me their cards and and pictures they made in school. LOVE! I also got some new and cute running clothes.  Chris always jokes that I pay way too much attention to what I am wearing when I run or work out, but I say if you look good, you feel good!       Later we went to mass and then celebrated my cousins little boy, Liam's first birthday.
After went to my moms for dinner.  So lucky and BLESSED to have on of the BEST mothers ever!  Hope my kids feel the same about me one day.
We had so much great food from all the days events.
We got home just in time for me to see the season finale of one of my favorite shows, Revenge.  So good!  What a great day!

Snapshot of a Sunday

Finished my second 10k with my girl Lisa!  We had a blast.  So happy to see our families cheering us on.  Overall time 52:38.  I came in 63 out of 180.  Not too shabby.  14 out of 91 females and 5th in my age group!  Half marathon here I come!
