Making it Through March!

Well, according to my great blogging skills of late, it couldn't possibly be March!  Last I blogged it was Christmas.  Honestly, I am a bit behind.  Sorry kids!  But I'm not giving up.  In my defense, the theme around here has been the same since December.  Cold, snow, cold, snow. . . . You get the idea!  This winter has been rough.  I'm not going to lie, it has been the worst.  We are just starting to see the grass.  I have not seen the grass since December.
My camera has pictures of stories that are longing to be told.  In an effort to catch up I figure I might as well post pictures along with a word or two.  At least I will feel better and feel caught up. Ha!

FEBRUARY

We celebrated my birthday, which, I kid you not had to be rescheduled 3 times due to snow!  I love birthdays, but it's no fun getting older when you already feel old!

The rest of the month looked like this:

Safe to say the kids missed a bit of school and mom was ready to have a breakdown!

MARCH

Happy to have February behind us and move on to some better weather.  Ha!  Wishful thinking.  I never would have dreamed that March weather would be worse.  Not only was it cold and snowy, the wind and lack of sun just really hit hard.  It was March MADNESS at it's best!

This little guy brought a smile to my face during this rough weather phase.  This month he lost TWO teeth on the bottom.  I can't believe it.  My baby is growing up!

A bit of sad news. . . .  our beloved, first and only pet bunny, Ollie, passed away earlier this month.  It was very emotional and  heartbreaking for the kids as well as Chris and myself.  We are not sure what happened.  He become ill on Friday, was not eating and walking funny.  Saturday morning I saw him sprawled out at the bottom of the stairs and the sight of him just tore my heart out!  He was trying to get up the stairs but could not.  Sunday we took him to the vet and they were uncertain as well.  His x -ray showed nothing broken.  They gave us some medicine and special food and we thought he was going to be alright.  Sadly, he died that night.  We suspect it was a stroke.  Bless his heart.  We loved that little guy so much.  As sad as it was, it was a good life lesson for the kids.

We felt the best way for our family was to get a new bunny ASAP!  Thanks to me dad, who is the best dad ever!  He called all over to find a bunny for us.  It was not an easy task but long story short. . . Introducing . . .
ASHTON
Our six week old Netherland dwarf.
I could seriously die from the cuteness!

FINALLY

Props to me for posting something about Easter a whole 2 days before Easter.  I mean really, at this rate, I would probably get it up by summer.  So needless to say I am proud of myself.  Pathetic I know!
We did stop by the mall to visit the Easter Bunny and actually got a decent photo.  Too bad Hunter was not in the photo.  He has decided that being 12 and all he would pass this year.  Picking my battles!

                                                                  HAPPY EASTER!

HAPPY 2013!

Hard to believe 2012 has come and gone. .  . . honestly each year just seems faster than the last. So much to be thankful for and remember.  Looking forward to all the great memories we will make with family and friends in 2013.
Christmas was so much fun this year.  The kids were up all night with excitement and wonder. They are not allowed down stairs until 7:00 but I heard them up several times "peeking" down the stairs.  They think they were tricky getting up four or five times to use the bathroom, but Chris and I were on to them. Ha!

Christmas morning was blanketed with the softest dusting of fluffy white snow.  Just enough to cover the ground and create a picturesque New England Christmas.  Two days later another story!  Over a foot of snow that made some Christmas vacationers very happy!

Finley proudly made this snowman all by himself!

Our bunny, Ollie just loved the Christmas tree.  This is where I would find him lying every day. Precious!  Poor thing is going to miss the tree when we take it down.

My sweet Hunter turned 12 on December 31st.  He is practically bigger than me at this point.  Growing up so fast with his new braces.  He was thrilled to get an ipad mim from Nana Sharon and Papa Fred!

Over the christmas break Chris and I were able to see the Dave Matthews with the Lumineers as their opening act! I am loving me some Lumineers these days.  They were both so good!
We got to spend a few days in Portsmouth as well.  It was so fun.  We kept running into people we knew and had lots of fun at the Blue Mermaid Restaurant.  The food was so good and they made the best drinks!

We rang in the New Year with Matt and Erin.  Matt has a great house for parties with an amazing wine cellar.  He got the best sushi and the wine was of course dee-lish! We had so much fun!

One of my new years resolutions is to really reave up my running.  I have been running quite a bit the last year with my friend Lisa.  My goal this year is to get more competitive and enter some races.  I already did two 5k's two months ago and loved it.  I've decided this year I want to run a half marathon and to get prepared I ran my first 10k on New Year's Day!  I was so proud of myself, not to mention I went to bed at 3:00 in the morning the day of the race.  Luckily race day adrenaline kept me going.  I ran with my friend Lisa and we had a blast!  The best part was the wine cork medal.  So cute! Thanks Lisa xo
